Account Executive

Hadfield Communications is seeking an experienced Account Executive to do business development as well as build and maintain client relationships. Many of our clients are in the food and beverage industry, so experience in this area would be a huge plus. If you’re a foodie, you’re our person. We are looking for a go getter who will add value to our operation by increasing our client base. The right candidate will have a desire for success and will understand that this position is crucial for the growth of the company and will be focused on taking our business development and account service to the next level. This person will also understand the dynamics of dealing with creatives and will know how to accurately and intelligently communicate what the client wants to the creative department.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads and develop and nurture business
  • Build strong relationships with food and beverage brokers, distributors, retailers and manufacturers to facilitate current and future marketing and advertising efforts for clients
  • Develop relationships with people with the intent of creating avenues for possible marketing partnerships
  • Assist in coordinating special events and promotions that are designed to increase brand awareness and generate customer traffic
  • Provide project management on multiple projects at the same time
  • Assist in the delegation of work to Account Coordinators and act as a leader in the department
  • Work closely with the creative team to find the best solution for the client
  • Create and implement agency processes catered specifically for account development and account service

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in advertising, public relations, marketing, business or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in an ad agency environment or the food and beverage industry
  • Demonstrated track record in acquiring and maintaining accounts
  • Ability to work with both large and small accounts
  • Proven ability to build and manage marketing partnerships, alliances and media relationships to drive current
    and future business
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Can prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience and understanding of the processes set in place by an ad agency
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to proof read work, write proposals, conduct client presentations and give constructive criticism in regards to the work created
  • Excellent presentation and customer service skills
  • Commitment to client satisfaction
  • Ability to easily communicate with internal staff, customers, business partners and industry experts and extract insight and knowledge from them
  • Comfortable making cold calls and diligent with follow-up
  • Ability to sell any and all services related to an ad agency and speak to those services intelligently and with confidence
  • Ability to plan and manage project timelines and budgets as well as to meet deadlines
  • Experience in media relations and planning and all aspects of print and broadcast
  • Ability to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning and culture
  • Ability to work with little direction and able to take the initiative on projects and see the big picture

Freelance Senior Web Designer

Hadfield is also seeking a skilled freelance Web designer to help with overflow work and act as an extension of our interactive department. This person will design, build and maintain client Web sites. The right candidate will be creative, organized, self motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills and have experience in developing/managing major projects. They will also be flexible and adaptive to changing client priorities. The Web Designer will be responsible for the design, layout, visual appearance and usability of client Web sites as well as back-end production and maintenance. Must be familiar with user-interface and information architecture principles, and how to design Web sites with complex information or functionality. This position will report to the Creative Director. The right candidate will have the following skills:

 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to create new web sites; make updates and modifications as necessary; assist in art direction/structure; maintain technical and aesthetic standards
  • Knowledge in creation of code to modify look of new and existing client sites for consistent branding
  • Ability to implement proven technologies into practical solutions including user-friendly design and online marketing and communication tools
  • Operational oversight including quality, accuracy and forward thinking design
  • An obvious creative spark combined with the ability to identify, develop and advance high level marketing strategies
  • Ability to work in a team environment, provide ideas and inspiration to co-workers and clients and act as a positive catalyst for the group
  • Interact closely with clients at the design stage and find the answers to questions about why the site is needed, who the target audience will be, who the leading competitors are, etc.
  • Ability to produce designs that will be attractive to the target user, have a logical navigation system and have all the features required by the client
  • Experience in writing web pages in a combination of codes, such as HTML and XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Actionscript, ColdFusion, .Net and Flash
  • Extensive experience with design/imaging applications including Photoshop, Fireworks, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, Illustrator and Flash for use in creating graphics optimized for the web
  • Skills in e-commerce and server side technologies, such as PHP and .Net, and internet security are also important
  • Deciding on how images and other materials will be digitally optimized and presented for the web and understanding how mockups translate to code
  • Testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions and fixing errors
  • Experience with the formation of asset library and management including maintenance of templates and image archives
  • Ability to design for print projects is a plus

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Web design
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in design and development of complex UI/internet applications
  • Expertise in current Internet standards, including web browsers and browser specifications to ensure that all web sites are accessible from a variety of different platforms, screen depths and other constraints
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies, including security and encryption on the Internet, and basic networking concepts
  • A demonstrated depth of experience in copy/design integration, typography and interactive interface design
  • Experience establishing design standards and related processes
  • Experience and understanding of site architecture, user experience, color theory and color management on the web, proper file formats, compression methods and techniques, etc.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and support staff
  • Strong conceptual and creative skills
  • Commitment to client satisfaction
